Are you “PLANNING” to Succeed?

Planning

Have you heard these 7 words before?  ”No Plan is a Plan to Fail!”  Yes, no truer words have been spoken. We all know we need to plan but yet we fall short of actually sitting down and ‘doing’ it!  Planning seems to be the last thing on our list of things to do, right?   We run around in our lives doing all kinds of things for all kinds of people.  We spend time planning a vacation or a birthday party but never spend much time  our life!  The most important thing we could do for OURSELVES is make a life/success plan.

Why do you need a plan?  Because without a plan you drift.  You have no aim or direction. You are floating in the energy of  ’I hope it will happen for me’ or ‘I think it will’ instead of MAKING it happen by following a distinct course of action. That course of action is A PLAN!  So, now is the time… Sit down and take 30 -60 minutes to plan for your week. If you are really ambitious, plan for your month, quarter or even your year!

It’s simple to start the process.  Brainstorm, think and strategize your ideas for the upcoming week. (We’ll start small.)  What needs to get accomplished this week?  What are your main goals?  What tasks can I delegate  to my team?  What is my marketing effort this week? How many FaceBook posts do I want this week?  These may not be your specific things, however you get the idea!  It all works but you have to work the TIME in to plan. Once you start, even 30 minutes at a time, you can grow to a full out planning “jam session” with yourself, your team or your coach!  Growing becomes easy when you plan to succeed.  Trust me, I have guided many teams at Chiro Advance Services to a greater level of success and this is the one thing that makes the most difference.  So… as Nike says  –  JUST DO IT!

3 Steps to create a better SELF-PORTRAIT for success!

Monday, April 9th, 2012

Did you know that your SELF PORTRAIT is made up of three parts, each of which affect each of the others? Understanding the three parts allows you to put your hands on the wheel of your life and DRIVE!  When you learn to take charge of the new and positive SELF PICTURE of your life, you can then control your results.

So first… Determine Your Direction and Strive toward it!

Your self-vision largely determines the direction in which you are going with your life. It guides the growth of your character and personality.  Your self-picture is a combination of all of the qualities and attributes of other people that you most admire and want in yourself!  The qualities of courage, confidence, compassion, love, fortitude, perseverance, patience, forgiveness and integrity are top things to look at.  You might not always live up to the very best that you know, but you are constantly striving to be a better person in light of those qualities that you value so highly. In fact, everything that you do on a day-to-day basis is affected by your comparing your activities with these ideal qualities and your striving to behave consistently with them.

Second… Successful people have very clear ideals for themselves and their careers.

Unsuccessful people have fuzzy ideals. Successful people are very clear about being excellent in every part of their work and their personal lives. Unsuccessful people don’t give the subject very much thought.

Third… Set and align your goals.

Its time to set higher and more challenging goals. When you set goals for the kind of person you want to be and the kind of life you want to live, the kind of career you want to have, you rise and become a greater motivating force in your life.  Perhaps the most important thing for you to realize is that whatever anyone else has done or become, you can do or become as well. Improvements in your self picture begin in your imagination, and in your imagination, there are no limits except the ones that you accept.

What is your ideal vision of the very best person you could possibly become? How would you behave each day if you were already that person? Asking yourself these questions and then living your life consistent with the answers is the first step to creating yourself in your ideal image.

Retention… A Vital Part of Practice Success!

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012
Retention is a necessary component to a successful office. I want you all to begin to realize, that the thing you are basing your retention on is a priceless commodity, priceless. Chiropractic and the results it provides for health and wellness is Priceless! Are you in touch with what that is worth?  Most people are not in touch with their power let alone what it’s worth. So you have to say to yourself, “What is it that I’m doing in my patient education that hits that point to where people start to tear up as soon as they hear it?”  You have to ask yourself, “Well, what’s my job really?”  As a Chiropractor or CA, “What’s my job?”

There’s not one right answer, in fact there’s about 100 right answers. Based upon your answer will actually determine your retention or the capability of your future retention. One person could actually say that, “My job is to get sick people well.” And that person isn’t wrong. And another person might say this and another person might say that ‘that’s my job’. So, how is that really serving you and how is that serving your patients? And how is that serving this planet of ours? Six billion people are in desperate need of knowing what you and I know to be true.

It’s deep to think this way but you have to!  Here is the bad news… It doesn’t end with just knowing what your job is because that was only the first question, the second question is, “When does that job start?” Well, you know what, all of you should be looking around your community, truly, at all the people that are not currently under care, aren’t they already patients of yours?  You know that’s where the love begins and ends, it’s not about somebody having to read my ad or go to a screening, and then, as soon as they come to my door, “Now you’re a patient.” No, no, no. That means you’re taking the next steps. You see, they’re all patients unless they’re not and then they’re not.  So I ask you, when does your job start? And you say, “Well as soon as I answer the phone, boy we start the service up and here we go”…well, you might be a little late… if that’s your answer. When does your job start probably requires a definition on your part of when is a patient truly a patient? And then you start asking yourself, “Well, what is my job and when does it start? And then, when does it end?” When does my job end with a particular patient? We must start to answer these questions and when we do,  I’m telling you that a revival’s going to come over you because we in chiropractic have been accepting a lower performance job description. Somebody gave it to us a long time ago and we have been using it as our policy. I am burning that policy today, I am starting a brand new policy with you, and you’re co-producing it with me. And I’m telling you right now that once we define what our job is, and when does it start and when does it end then things will start happening for you greater than you have ever seen.

Dr. Fab Empower’s the Dr. Phil Show!

Wednesday, March 14th, 2012
Talking Chiropractic on “Dr. Phil”
Dr. Fabrizio Mancini, a doctor of chiropractic and the president of Parker University in Dallas, and Dr. Patrick DeFazio, a Los Angeles doctor of chiropractic, appear on the “Dr. Phil” show onMarch 14, marking chiropractic’s first appearance on the popular daytime talk show, which is broadcast on 220 television stations across the U.S. and in more than 40 countries worldwide.

The segment begins with Dr. Phil introducing Dr. Mancini as his chiropractor for 14 years and author of the book The Power of Self-Healing: Unlock Your Natural Healing Potential in 21 Days! This set the stage for Dr. Mancini to talk about his book and the concepts of chiropractic. He stated that “the only way to truly fulfill your life potential is to fulfill your health potential.” Dr. Mancini added that the difference between chiropractic and what he called the “sick care system” in the U.S. is that “we see patients as [people, not just diseases."

Dr. Phil told the audience, "I got chiropractic treatment from you [Dr. Mancini] 2 or 3 times a week.” He went on to introduce his current personal chiropractor, Dr. DeFazio, who was given an opportunity to talk more about chiropractic and how it can, among other benefits, help relieve stresses on the body.

After the show, a number of people working on the set asked about how to find a local chiropractor or remarked how much they had learned about the value of chiropractic. This was in addition to the many members of the audience who talked about chiropractic and asked Dr. Mancini to autograph their copy of his book.

You Mind is your Super Power!

Saturday, March 3rd, 2012

What’s your SUPER POWER? Could it be your mind?  Your mind and the way you use it is either your super power or it is your villain. Which one do you have?

Are you using your super power when you think to yourself, “Can I really do this?” or  ”I’m not good enough to get that job!”  No!  You are being the villain of your life!  You’re robbing yourself of the power and energy you need to succeed! Let me share a few tips with you!

TIP #1. If your mind can accept that something is achievable, it will find a way to attain that thing. “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” These are the immortal words of Napoleon Hill, a man who truly understood that “there are no limitations to the mind except those we acknowledge.”

TIP #2. Remember that your possibilities are endless if you only control your thinking. What may be a challenge for one person is a walk in the park for another. It’s all about how you think about it!

TIP #3. Your potential as a human being is unlimited. You have within you the ability to become and to achieve anything you want. Do you believe that?  Do you think that about yourself daily?

Your LIFE is limited only by you. It doesn’t matter what you did in the past or what was said about you. You need to clear your mind and re-build your thought patterns for a new and empowered you!  I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes. Let it empower you!

Marianne Williamson said – “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?”

How to Maximize your Newspaper Coverage beyond Facebook!

Sunday, February 19th, 2012

A few weeks ago, a CAS Member, we’ll call him Dr. Feelgood, was quoted in his local newspaper in an article about chiropractic and pregnancy.  His question to us was,”Do you have any ideas on how to utilize this article for marketing other than putting it up on Facebook?”

Below are our ideas.  You may want to save a copy for your future reference.  Also, if you have any ideas to add, please post them below.

Purchase extra copies of the newspaper and scatter the articles around the office for people to read.  Make it an “assignment” like you would having them read an Educational Power Card prior to their adjustment.  At the table explain that you wanted them to read the article not to see your name in print but to reinforce that they are in the right place, they are doing the right thing for their health, and that chiropractic is verybeneficial for pregnancy, child birth, etc. Then take the opportunity ask if they know anyone who’s expecting.  Be sure to have a Care to Share package ready for them to pass along to their referral, as well as a copy of the article of course.  Track these efforts for follow-up and accountability.

Make good quality copies of the article and include them in new patient packets, make them available at screening events, etc.  Staff should give a copy to every expectant mom they know.  Ask patients who are attending child-birth classes to take some to their class for the other moms to be!

Send a letter to all the midwives, OB/GYN’s, pregnancy groups, Mom’s groups, etc. and include several copies of the article along with your business card for referrals.  Maybe even a special offer for a first visit or chiropractic pregnancy check-up.

Add a link to the article to your website with the headline, “See what one Goshen News reporter had to say about Dr. Feelgood!”

Add a little blurb to your next e-newsletter and include a link to the article.  This is another great opportunity for you to generate referrals.  Include a request asking the reader to forward the e-newsletter along to every expectant (or soon to be expecting) woman they know.  Dont’ forget the fathers-to-be too!

If the reporter has a Facebook page, post on her wall a thank you or kudos for the great article (and include a link to it so people who see your post have a reference).  Do the same on the newspaper’s Facebook page.

NOTE: Don’t forget that once your article link is posted to your practice Facebook page, all staff who are on Facebook must “share” the post with their Facebook friends so people beyond your page’s followers see it!
Lots of great ideas here and of course they are specific to Dr. Feelgood’s article, however they could be easily adjusted and adapted to any media exposure you receive!  Good luck and take it to the EXTREME!

Failing on the way to SUCCESS!

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

If you are a parent, you have most like been through this.  We all experience the joy of watching our children turn over, then crawl, then stand up and then take those first steps. With outstretched arms they stand two or three steps away and encourage the little one to come to them. Chances are about three trillion to one that when the baby falls down the parent is not going to say, “Okay, you had your chance – you blew it! Don’t you ever try to walk again!” That’s absurd, but isn’t it equally absurd to think we can accomplish major things in our lives without experiencing some failures of some kind? We all need to remember that failure is an event, not a person, that success is a process and not just an instant happening. Few succeed overnight. Instead, they succeed over time.
Troy Aikman, Steve Young, Brett Favre, Dan Marino are (or were) extremely effective NFL quarterbacks and yet each of the four has thrown more incomplete passes than 99% of all the quarterbacks who ever threw a football.

Obviously, along the way they also threw an awful lot of completions. The top marketing CA in a chiropractic office has probably missed many opportunities or events BUT because she made 90% more calls then other CA’s, she has schedule an abundance!  There’s never been a Chiropractor who served many patients who, despite his or her best efforts, did not lose some of them. They understand that some people are not ready to ‘play’ in the game of health at their level.

All of us need to remember there is a vast difference between failing in an event and failing in life. Once we understand that, our chances for success substantially increase. We need to remember that winners are people who got up one more time than they were knocked down. Think about it, keep getting up!!

Your Practice Will Never Outgrow Your Self-Esteem

Sunday, August 28th, 2011

When you think about “PERSONAL LIFE SUCCESS”, what comes to your mind?  Do you think about material things?  The cars, the house, the cash, the business success, the ipad etc… or maybe you recall every drip of sweat it took to get you to your level in life?  Do you feel it was worth it?  Are the material things worth it or is there more to this PERSONAL LIFE SUCCESS then that?  How are you feeling about YOURSELF?  How are you living your life?  Do you live life with energy and gusto, or do you live tired, bored and negative?

Living a SUCCESSFUL LIFE has little to do with net-worth or material things.  It has everything to do with self-worth or self confidence.  Your LIFE VALUE or personal value is a direct result of your self-esteem and beliefs about yourself.  Do you realize that 2 put of 3 people suffer from low esteem and consider themselves less worthy than others?  In order to really create personal success, the kind that leaves you feeling full of spirit and power, you must follow some simple life rules… Don’t give away another day… EMPOWER your self-worth and self-esteem with some simple strategies!

Quit comparing and thinking about others in relation to you: PLEASE don’t try to be like everyone else.  Comparing yourself to others only pushed you deeper into low self-worth and confidence.  Remember, you are the only YOU there is and you have  your own strengths, ideas and talents.  Think of you being the best YOU!  Improve and develop yourself, but don’t get down on yourself for not being like the ‘others’.  Be great in YOUR way.
Don’t be afraid to fail: Everyone fails; it’s part of being a human being.  Failure is a necessary part of growth and success.  Look at Michael Jordan: “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” You never make the shots you don’t take!  Take the shots, miss occasionally but win more often then none!

DELETE your mental computer: Mental Computer?  Yes, your brain!  Each day your add to your mental computer all the things that happen and occur and at the end of the day you can SAVE and DELETE!  DELETE the mean, hurtful and unconstructive things others say.  Criticisms are good as long as they are meant to improve you, however when people use their words to demean, manipulate, degrade and control you, DELETE them! EMPTY your hard drive of those words, and the accompanying feelings!  Remember it’s their problem…NOT yours.  DELETE and then ENTER new words of power…. “I am amazing” I am an awesome Doctor” “I am worthy of all life’s blessings”

Get Passionate!: Passion fuels your success.  Passion fuels your power.  Get  on fire about what you love, starting with yourself!  The more passion you feel, the more success your attract.  You will attract the people, places and things that strengthen that passion, just watch!
